Tortuguero
A village between canals and the Caribbean, reached only by boat or light aircraft. By canoe through the canals you see caimans, monkeys and kingfishers; from July to October green turtles come ashore at night to lay their eggs.
Tip: The car stays in a guarded car park at La Pavona or Caño Blanco; take only a small bag.
