The other side of Costa Rica, Caribbean and laid back. First whitewater on the Pacuare, then by boat to the jungle lodges of Tortuguero. Then south: the coastal trail of Cahuita, sloths in the palms and rice and beans in coconut milk in Puerto Viejo. September and October are the driest months here, while it rains on the Pacific side.
